MAINTENANCE MECHANICThe Housing Authority of the City of Americus is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Maintenance Mechanic. This position involves the performance of semi-routine and diversified duties in connection with repairs to and maintenance of buildings and grounds requiring many skills found at the journeyman level such as carpentry for woodwork repairs, plumbing repairs, electrical and painting work. Preference will be given to applicants that are certified in HVAC work and certified in handling R-22 and R-410 freon. Additional preference will be given to applicants that hold a State of Georgia HVAC contractor license. Education and Experience requirements include graduation from high school or GED equivalent, two or more years’ proven experience in a journeyman level craftsman in one or more of the building trades or equivalent, and have a valid class C or better driver’s license and have a driver record with no major violations. Starting salary is dependent on qualifications. Interested persons must submit a complete job application at the Housing Authority of Americus, 825 N. Mayo St., Americus, Ga. 31709.
