Applicants must be at least 21, possess a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license and able to pass a criminal background and physical fitness assessment test to apply.This position will perform traditional duties, including, patrolling specific districts by foot or automobile, handling public complaints, arresting violators of the law, responding to accidents, issuing the necessary summons or tickets when appropriate, preparing/compiling reports and maintaining police records. Additionally, Thomasville Police Officers are required to participate in Community Oriented Policing programs that will require extensive interaction with the community.Excellent benefits! Starting pay, for uncertified Police Officer, is $24,635 and GA Certified Police Officers w/no experience is $28K+.
