REVENUE COLLECTORThe City of Americus is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Revenue Collector. The salary for this position is $32,247.00.Responsibilities of this position are to perform complex research and analysis and administrative task for utility billing and to contribute to the overall success of the Finance Department. Performs intermediate professional work, plans organizes and directs revenue collection activities for utility billing collections, both in-house accounts as well as coordinating collections with our outside agency, and oversees and participates in maintaining related files and records while providing high quality service in a friendly and efficient manner. The Revenue Collector position calls for an individual who would also serve as the primary back up to the Customer Service Administrator in supervision and managing Utility Billing Department. Serves as the primary point of contact for customer escalations, from the Customer Service Representatives, as well as the liaison on the Fats, Oils & Grease program for the City. It is therefore vital that this position has excellent customer service. Work is performed under the general direction of the Customer Service Administrator and or the Finance Director. Requirements include Bachelor’s degree with coursework in accounting, finance and moderate experience municipal revenue collection activities including some supervisory experience and experience in resolving customer concerns, and general ledger accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have demonstrated efficiency in the use of computers including the financial software systems, Word and Excel. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
