Hourly wage of $9.78 or piece rates ranging from $0.20 per 100 ft. (2 string) row to string or unstring bell peppers to $2.75 per 100 ft. row to unstring/cut back eggplant, whichever is higher. Production standards apply. Perform manual labor to plant, cultivate, harvest and pack vegetables including squash, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers and tomatoes using hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, shears & knives by hand. Perform bending, stooping, reaching and heavy lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., overhead lifting of 40 lbs. Requires that work is performed while standing in one place for prolonged periods of time, repeatedly and working in inclement weather including high temperatures, light rain and high humidity. Two months verifiable farm work experience harvesting one or more of the following vegetables listed on the contract: squash, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers or tomatoes. Three quarters of an average of 40 hrs./wk guaranteed. Tools, supplies, and equipment provided at no cost. Housing provided at no cost if outside commuting area. If applicable, transportation and subsistence expense to the job will be paid upon completion of 50% of the employment period, or earlier.
